WINTER ON THE RIDGE

I had wanted to visit Rudolfův kámen (Rudolf´s Stone) for a long time. Not that I had never been there, but I had a picture in my head of the sky turning red behind the little hut on Rudolfův kámen due to the rising sun. And so I set off. The conditions were great: it had snowed, the temperature was deep below zero (where I was taking pictures from, the thermometer showed $-23^circ ext{C}$) and the sky was almost clear.I can state that it was the most difficult ascent I have ever done, because for the first time I was trudging uphill through 75 cm of snow, and a 2 cm thick layer of rime ice formed on my tripod, which I was using instead of a walking stick. I think the result was worth the effort, because the national park has its charm even in winter.
